Kikusui “Fountain Of Youth” Junmai Ginjo Sake
Fountain Of Youth, eh?
I grade sake by its aroma. The stronger its aroma, the better. I also take its price into grading. If something is way too expensive, that’s going to affect its grading negatively unless it has got a God-tier aroma or something to offset its price.
I also take its taste into account although it’s not a significant factor. But, if something tastes unique in a positive way, then bonus points.
Fountain Of Youth sake
This is filtered sake with no color to it. It cots 13 CAD per a 300ml bottle.
The name of this sake is basically “Fountain of Youth” sake. I personally feel youth and sake should never in the same sentence, but what do I know.
This sake is … awesome. The first warm sip I had felt like a flowery aroma. It’s kind of sweet, yet salty to a small degree, I don’t quite know how to exactly describe the aroma, but an image of a flower did pop up when I had the first sip, so this is what I am sticking with.
Given the cheap price and the wonderful aroma, this is awesome sake to have.
