NieR: Automata YoRha No. 2 Type B Deluxe edition
I often hesitate when deciding to purchase a figure, especially when it costs over 300 Canadian rubles.
But, when I saw a pre-order opening for a proper 2B figure by Flare, on that occasion there was very little doubt about my decision to purchase this.
In case you are not aware, Square Enix has the right to Nier IP (intellectual property), and they don’t often license 3rd parties to make figures from their own IP.
So, it was a surprise to me that Flare was able to license 2B from them. I am not complaining of course because this figure is gorgeous, sexy, and … huge.
Speaking of size, this is officially a 1/7 scale but I will say this is a 1/6 scale figure. Standing at 28cm (11 inch), this 2B figure dwarfs 1/8 scale figures.
It means that this figure should be displayed alone with its pod. She just doesn’t get along with other figures just as how she is in game.
Have I mentioned that she is gorgeous? This figure is gorgeous. My only complaint about this figure is its towering size. I would have absolutely loved this figure if it was smaller. I would have liked it as a 1/8 scale figure.
2B is elegantly sexy which is one of her charming points. There are plenty of slutty figures. Elegantly sexy figures are somewhat a rare thing because this figure is the first one for me.
And I do own several “lewd” figures.
Now, if you are short on money, you do have an option to purchase a standard edition which omits the pod and “sexy” parts. The standard edition will save you about 60 USD. However, I do not recommend this route. The pod is an important character. You should not, must not, miss out on the pod.
The deluxe edition brings you sexy parts which is an extra head without the blindfold and a skirt-less torso. If you display this figure publicly, which I do, you should probably forget about using the skirt-less torso. And 2B looks better with her blindfold on.
Therefore, these two extra parts are unnecessary in my opinion. It’s nice to have options of course but, if there was an option to save some money while having the pod without the extra head and torso, I would have gone for that.
Now, as for the quality of this figure, there isn’t really anything to complain about. Flare has done a five star job here. I am glad that Square Enix let Flare do this because, quite frankly, I am not a fan of figures made by Square Enix.
Oh, well.
