Sakura Muromachi Sake
Supposedly sakura aroma.
I grade sake by its aroma. The stronger its aroma, the better. I also take its price into grading. If something is way too expensive, that’s going to affect its grading negatively unless it has got a God-tier aroma or something to offset its price.
I also take its taste into account although it’s not a significant factor. But, if something tastes unique in a positive way, then bonus points.
Sakura Muromachi Junmai Ginjo Bizen Maboroshi Sake
The name is too long, so I shortened it for the title.
This is filtered sake costing 29 CAD per a 720ml bottle, making this a middle-of-range sake you can buy. It also has a faint yellow color to it. This sake has supposedly won some sort of award and has sakura aroma, supposedly.
And I did feel some sort of plant aroma. I’ve never seen or smelled sakura flower in my real life, so I would be the worst person to identify the aroma.
But the bottom line is that it does have some sort of plant aroma that I didn’t exactly dislike it. It’s … meh. I suppose it’s decent. Yes, it’s not the worst sake I’ve tasted.
Additionally, this sake tasted better when drunken in room temp. It’s far more mellow when drunken that way, so I actually recommend not warming this. Drinking this cold is a complete waste of money because it turns into weak vodka. Its aroma vanishes in cold temp.
So, just drink this as is in room temperature.
