Pure Dawn Sake
A nice name.
I grade sake by its aroma. The stronger its aroma, the better. I also take its price into grading. If something is way too expensive, that’s going to affect its grading negatively unless it has got a God-tier aroma or something to offset its price.
I also take its taste into account although it’s not a significant factor. But, if something tastes unique in a positive way, then bonus points.
Pure dawn sake
Costing 42 CAD for a 720ml bottle, this is expensive sake. Having said that, I like the name. I mean, it’s “Pure dawn” sake. A name doesn’t get much better than this.
The bottle goes nicely with the name also. Let’s hope that the taste matches its appearance..
This sake … is very mellow. It goes down really smoothly
Under room temp, it has no aroma, just ethanol taste. At the same time, it’s very mild. Beer will taste stronger than this in spite of a fact it has 15.8% alcohol.
When warmed, the ethanol taste is more prevalent. The kickback is not too strong though. Sadly, no aroma even when warmed.
While the sake itself is decent, I can’t forgive the price tag of 42CAD. You can get something similar at half of its price. So, I am throwing this under bloody awful grade.
